On the international fashion scene, Prada is playing around with the idea of making the first public offering in time for its June deadline, though it is more likely that this will happen early 2009. Roberto Cavalli is going to be selling a portion of his company, valued at $1.89 billion, to private investors. And the wonderful Marc by Marc Jacobs is set to open the first European boutique in Paris later this year.

Karl Lagerfeld appeared at the release of Grand Theft Auto IV, where Rockstar Games created an animated version of the designer, who will be playing a DJ in the upcoming satirical cartoon film.

Phat Fashions recently sued Victoria’s Secret for the similarity between Victoria’s Secret’s “P” logo compared to Phat Fashions old “P” logo. Now Victoria’s Secret is suing Macy’s for making confusingly similar fashions of their Pink brand for Macy’s Pinkish label.

Hermès has noted that eBay should not be making commissions on the unregulated sales of counterfeit goods. A $45,000 suit has been filed by Hermès against the online auction giant.

The Hills stars have been keeping busy, with Lauren Conrad promoting her new womenswear label on March 29 at the Holt Renfrew in Toronto’s Yorkdale Mall. Lauren’s rival enemy Heidi Montag just put her own line down the runway – Heidiwood.
