More Visibility for Keira

Chanel’s new Coco Mademoiselle advertising campaign will feature British actress Keira Knightley, and according to WWD.com, the ads will be blitzed through national television and print advertising, online, and in an extensive outdoor presence. It is one of Chanel’s “most sweeping beauty campaigns” since Nicole Kidman represented Chanel No. 5 in 2004.

In other advertising campaign news, Heidi Klum has been tapped as the new face of Jordache jeans, while Teri Hatcher will be featured in Badgley Mischka’s Fall campaign.

Jordache’s Fall campaign was shot by movie director Brett Ratner in the penthouse of the Chateau Marmont, and was inspired by the company’s controversial 1979 campaign. According to Fashion Wire Daily, that campaign was banned by major TV networks for featuring a topless woman riding a horse; the new campaign shows a topless Klum from behind, holding equestrian gear while standing on the balcony overlooking Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, at Badgley Mischka, Hatcher will be shown lounging poolside in lingerie. In a press release, Hatcher said, “They were the first designers to dress me for my first ever red carpet event.” Known for their evening wear, design duo Mark Badgley and James Mischka also create sportswear, footwear, swimwear, wedding gowns, lingerie, and a full range of accessories. In fact, Fashion Wire Daily reported that in early August, they launched the new Platinum Day handbag collection — a “slick collection of lower-priced, candy colored bags with chunky brass hardware.” Retail prices for the purses start at $300 (USD).
