If you think Mexican food is spicy, you haven't tasted anything yet. Korean food is known to be fiery and intense. If you’re seeking adventure, there are a few noteworthy restaurants in Seoul where you can sample a wide variety of native dishes like the infamous hot red pepper paste that is the hallmark of Korean cuisine. A popular spot with visitors is the Don Valley in Itaewon. Or, if you’re feeling more daring, you could wander through the narrow alleys of Insadong or Jongno. Both areas are lined with restaurants serving many traditional Korean dishes.

The native food can be a bit too powerful for some, so if you prefer sticking to what you know, there are several places where you can enjoy "foreign" food. One of the best is Jenny's Cafeteria, a charming little Italian sandwich place in Hongdae. But don't let the name fool you - it's an intimate restaurant that seats fewer than 20 people.  The soft lighting and authentic Italian-style sandwiches are ideal for a light lunch or dinner. Great salads and desserts are also on the menu. If a full day of sightseeing has left your stomach growling, don't miss Sorentino's. Sorentino himself prepares some of the most decadent, to-die-for Italian dishes in Seoul. If you'd prefer to tickle your taste buds with Middle Eastern or Indian food, there are also a variety of Jordanian, Indian and Turkish restaurants around the city

Though there are an overwhelming number of restaurants to try and shopping destinations to hit up, don't forget to book yourself a fantastic place to stay. The Sheraton Walker Hill Hotel and the Hyatt Hotel are among the best accommodations in the city. The Sheraton provides some of the best Western cuisine in the country. When deciding where to rest your head, keep in mind that the Hyatt serves wonderfully delicious, thick waffles with homemade fruit compote for breakfast.

Eat well, rest well, and have a fabulous time in Korea.
