New Spice

When we hear celebs cite some dreamy inspiration for their latest fragrance, we can’t help but feel a little but ripped off when we finally see the lackluster flacon.  It’s like finally catching a movie that’s been overhyped, and the most memorable part is the stale popcorn we consumed at a jackrabbit’s pace.

But Brazilian designer Isabela Capeto commits no such injustice on us fragrance junkies.

Already celebrated in her native Brazil for her whimsical and quirky clothing line, designer Isabela Capeto’s first fragrance---inspired by her artistic pieces from her collection—is all handmade, embroidered, dyed and appliquéd with the most methodic detailing. Capeto turned to her favourite soapmaker, Brazilian giant Perfumaria Phebo, and well-tuned French nose Carmita Magalhaes from the French perfume house Mane to launch her self-titled debut scent.

The juice itself follows the unpredictable suit of the bottle (a gorgeous melody of curves lacquered in bright, cherry red). From bay leaf and pink pepper, apricot, lily, amber and musk, this juice is brimming with a symphony of seemingly incongruous—but actually harmonious—yummy smelling notes.
