Wok With Style

When a friend suggested Asian takeout, I was prepared for the usual cookie-cutter stir-fry doled out from a sparsely decorated and poorly lit storefront. Imagine my surprise upon entering the new-to-Vancouver Noodle Box only to find a packed house at 8:00 p.m. on a Wednesday night.

Originally a noodle cart in Victoria’s Chinatown, The Noodle Box now boasts three locations and unparalleled reviews. And their newest spot on West 4th lives up to the reputation with fast and flavour-filled dishes served up in this funky and unpretentious space. The Noodle Box offers imported libations, healthy fare options, and entrees like the Thai Style Chow Mein from $7-15.  There are tables for eat-in but no table service – just take a number and one of the wok warriors will shout out your order from the open kitchen.  Or grab a generous helping of takeaway to enjoy at home with a glass of wine (calling ahead is advised to avoid the lines). Perfect for a casual date or Sunday lunch with friends, The Noodle Box is an Asian fusion force to be reckoned with.
