THE FIVE MINUTE RULE

Attention university, college, and all post-secondary students:

There comes a time in every student’s life when she just gives up on fashion and does the whole sweatpants and hoodie thing. Comfortable, yes, but let’s still show the world you’re capable of looking good by performing this five-minute beauty routine.

  1. Foundation. This is literally a 30-second face massage that will make a huge difference for your complexion. Unless you have the perfect porcelain skin thing going on, it’s worth doing.
  1. Blush. Smile and sweep a little bit of blush onto the apples of your cheeks. A peachy colour compliments almost all skin tones, and it will instantly warm up your complexion.
  1. Eyebrows. These can be challenging for some, so I encourage, at the very minimum, using a brow gel to tame those wild beasts.
  1. Mascara. The eye opener you can’t skip. A coat or two will make your eyes look mesmerizing.
  1. Eyes. No time to apply shadow? Here’s a quick way to achieve a similar look: with your fingers, apply a cream, neutral shade over your lids to hide any veins or discolouration.
  1. Lips. A light colour lip balm with sun protection factor (SPF) will prevent dry, cracked lips, and will finish off your look.
