NAILING IT

When all you want is buffed and shined digits, scoring an appointment at a high-traffic spa can be tough. That’s why we’re loving the onslaught of Manhattan-inspired nail bars that keep popping up across Toronto.

10 Spot Nail Bar

If the vegan nail polish and the stylish, modern décor weren’t enough to lure you in, then the free cocktail mixed by owner Kristen Gale should. “Brazilians” are a popular service here, with Sex and the City episodes in the background to distract you from the pain. Manicures start at $30, and pedicures at $50.

FLOW Nail Spa & Soap Boutique

This breezy space is ideal for beauty puritans, as artificial nails are shunned from the menu.  Polish and nail hardeners are also formaldehyde- and toluene-free, and “germaphobes” can breathe easy; the rigorous sterilization process is so impressive, the staff happily performs the process in front of its clients. Manicures start at $15, and pedicures at $20.

Polish Beauty Bar

Fans of the eponymous Essie nail polish line flock to this boutique-nail spa for quick manicures that don’t skimp on service. Delicious products from the beloved Canadian brand Cake are used — but that’s not the best part. Thursday nights are reserved for music and martinis, so you can either zone out or perk up. Either way, you leave with a killer manicure. Manicures start at $18, and pedicures at $45.
