The Centaur Theatre is Quebec’s leading English-language theatre company. In the past few years, the Centaur has led the way by producing and presenting 17 world premieres of Montreal playwrights, has been recognized as a major force in Canadian theatre through its international initiatives, and has received numerous major awards. The Centaur Theatre was founded in 1969 and is a not-for-profit organization based in the Old Port of downtown Montreal. Located at 453 St. François-Xavier — a gorgeous cobblestone street — this historic building stands out, and is one of the greatest cultural experiences of Montreal.

The theatre creates, develops, produces, and presents plays that relate directly to the human experience.
