VIFF Reel Into the City

Oh, I can smell it in the air.  People of Vancouver, mark your calendars! Running from September 27 – October 12 is the 26th annual Vancouver International Film Festival.  Always an indication of summer transitioning into autumn, the VIFF showcases an abundance of brilliant cinema from around the globe. A stellar lineup of world cinema, VIFF is one of the best opportunities to exemplify the talent behind the dynamic Canadian film industry.

In 2006, it was estimated that nearly 150,000 film enthusiasts supported the multiple sold-out screenings of films during the festival. One would only imagine this year will have the same, if not better response. The films are categorized into groups such as Dragons and Tigers: Cinema of East Asia, Canadian Images, Cinema of our Time, and Spotlight on France. VIFF is excited to include the new category of Climate for Change sponsored by first-time partner  Kyoto Planet.

This year, Canada will showcase a total of 82 screenings ranging from full-length submissions to documentaries and shorts. Be sure to support and pay homage to our hardworking creative geniuses and check out at least one Canadian film during the festival.

See you at the screenings!  Popcorn not included.
