I love NY

“Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens and Staten (Island) from the bowery to the Top of Manhattan. Asian, Middle Eastern and Latin, black, white New York you make it happen.” Talking like true New Yorkers, The Beastie Boys tell it like it is on their album To the 5 Boroughs. With a population exceeding 7,300,000, it is one of the world’s largest cities, yet it’s a piece of cake to get around with its grid-like structure and convenient subway. An economic hub and a world leader in fashion, manufacturing, finance, culture, tourism--and the list goes on, it’s no surprise the term “The Big Apple” means to play the big time.

What is so lovable about this crazy city is the fact that it blends so many different cultures, beliefs and styles into a relatively small area. With its turbulent past, New York wasn’t always a peaceful place--during the 70’s and 80’s it was better known for high murder rates rather than high fashion. The revamped and more reliable NYC has turned areas like “The Meatpacking District” into stylish hot spots. Jam-packed with some of the world’s finest museums, parks, theaters, shopping, cafes, restaurants and clubs, there is never a dull moment in this city. It’s a bit of glam mixed with a bit of grit--a tourist’s dream, and a New Yorker’s sanctuary.
