SWINGING SIXTIES

Montreal based Valerie Dumaine has been flexing her design muscles since 1997, working for various companies, travelling to London and Berlin, and finally returning she returned to Canada in 2004 and decided in 2004 to focus on her own line. The result has been a collection of work that reflects her desired client, a confident woman with style to spare.

For the Fall 2008 season, she looked to the past for inspiration, showing a collection with a decidedly 60s vibe. From the short chemises with geometric prints to an a-line double breasted pea coat, there are plenty of pieces to make Jean Shrimpton swoon. Pair the black sequined shift with coloured tights and you will be transformed to a time when peace and love reigned supreme. Groovy baby!
