Premiering as the opening film of the 2008 Venice International Film Festival, the newest Cohen brothers flick has a star-studded cast that includes Brad Pitt, Frances McDormand, John Malkovich, George Clooney, and Tilda Swinton. Burn After Reading is a dark spy-comedy about a CIA official’s memoir accidentally falling into the hands of two gym employees intent on exploiting their find. Miracle at St. Anna

Directed by Spike Lee and written by James McBride, the author who wrote the acclaimed novel by the same name, Miracle at St. Anna follows an all-black American army unit stationed in Tuscany, Italy, during WWII. When four soldiers find themselves separated from the rest of their unit and behind enemy lines, they risk their lives saving an Italian boy. Starring a cast of relative unknowns, Miracle at St. Anna looks to be deeply touching and inspiring when it makes its way onto the silver screen on Sept. 26.

The Express

For those who are fans of inspiring school football movies like Remember the Titans and Rudy, The Express is an upcoming film based on the life of Ernie Davis, the first African-American to win the Heisman Trophy for the most outstanding collegiate football player. Starring up-and-comer Rob Brown as Davis and Dennis Quaid as his football coach, the film centres not only around Davis’ rise at Syracuse but also the racial tensions within the country, particularly in the South, at the time. The film is sure to be nothing short of moving when it hits theatres on Oct. 3.

Flash of Genius

Starring Greg Kinnear, the film is filled with patriotic spirit, excellent acting, and a poignant storyline. Check out Flash of Genius when it hits theatres on Oct. 17.
